100 Authentic LinkedIn Content Ideas FREE

Not ChatGPT or AI-generated

Here is a LinkedIn content creed that you must always remember:

People don't want to help you get to where you are going. People want to take advantage of where you have been and where you are.

When you think about writing content on LinkedIn, think - how can I get people to take advantage of me?

Not because you want to be taken advantaged of. But because that is how far you have to think to come up with a really valuable content.

Today’s edition of the newsletter is all about helping you come up with content that is worth engaging with. I will share with you 100 content ideas. You will never say you don’t know what to post again.

Okay, let’s begin with a few tips…

How to Win With Content on LinkedIn

The way to win big with LinkedIn in 5 simple steps:

  • Start posting regularly

  • Niche

  • Profile/content coherence

  • Hook

  • Non-stop engagement

Do not overthink it. The earlier you start the better. And I will be sharing more details about each one in subsequent newsletter editions. Be sure to subscribe to not miss it.

Also, here is the state of things that are working right now on LinkedIn:

  • 👫Follower count is nothing but social proof

  • 🎯Niche is everything. Maybe even keywords niche

  • ⛓Links within LinkedIn posts are back. But within comments (of a post that's not yours), the algorithm suppresses it

  • ✏All text content is outperforming images, carousels, and maybe even video

  • 🔁"Repost with your thoughts" is a reach killer

  • 🤓Thoughtful comments are driving impressions

  • 💁‍♂️Engagement* is king

*Engagement (in this context) is when you comment and the author of the post comments you back.

100 LinkedIn Content Ideas

First, I will share 3 content ideas each for HR people, “open to work” people, founders, and coaches. Next, I will show you 5 hook frameworks with some really good hook angles. Then, you will get 85 raw content ideas.

These ideas are based on what I have seen that works on LinkedIn. And they are not generic. They are not AI generated.

Can you use AI with these ideas? Of course, you can. But remember that AI will make you sound like a typical LinkedIn post. And you don’t want that. Authenticity is very important on social platforms right now.

If everybody on LinkedIn was using AI, LinkedIn will have nobody to show ads to. And that will damage their business. Always remember that LinkedIn will take actions aligned with keeping people on the platform for as long as possible.

Having said that, let’s go!

3 kinds of LinkedIn content to go viral as an HR person:

1. Recent job openings list

Better when it is between 7 - 15. Also better when it includes pay range, location or remote status, and travel requirements. It doesn't have to be from your company. Think global.

2. Applicant advocacy

Understanding how applicants feel when they go through the hiring process is huge. Showing empathy works. Much more than that, having an intricate understanding of how the process looks from the perspective of the candidate is super important.

3. Success story

Start the story with the most emotionally triggering part of the story. Then, build the story around that. Always remember to not start the story from the beginning. Start the story from the emotional part of it.

3 kinds of LinkedIn content to go viral as someone with an "open to work" green banner:

1. What you tried that failed

Tell a story of something that is often recommended to job seekers that failed you in exceptional fashion. Feel free to be dramatic or cringe.

2. Big problem overturned

In your previous workplace, what was a sudden problem that came up that you ended up overturning singlehandedly? That would be a good story. It could also be a group effort, but it must be one where you played a significant role. Mention and tag the people involved (as long as it doesn't paint them bad).

3. Ask for help

Don't ask for a job. Ask for advice. Abstract a few details in your unique situation and share unashamedly. Ask for advice on what to do going forward.

3 kinds of LinkedIn content to go viral as a founder:

1. You are hiring

Never let an hiring season go to waste. Always make a big deal about your hiring posts. The people who see it are not just applicants. Your clients, prospects, etc., sees it too.

2. Money status

If you raised money, make a post about it. Feel free to be cringe emotional (if you are the type). If you are bootstrapped, when you hit an MRR milestone or an ARR milestone, post it. Screenshot the proof too.

3. Big client addition

If you get a big huge client, make a post about it. Mention the client and tag them if you can (and have taken permission). This may be after a few weeks of working with the client (to be harmonious). A big client announcement can be your best client-acquisition channel if you are very smart about it.

3 kinds of LinkedIn content to go viral as a coach:

1. A client success story

The trick here is that you must not be the hero of the story. The client must be the protagonist of the story. You, the coach, are the side character. You want to paint the picture so clear that people who identify with that client would inquire about your services. You may add cash value to reflect gravity of your work.

2. Research statistics

What is the latest interesting research statistics around your ICP? Find one and build content around it with your thoughts and experience. Statistics from prestigious organizations and well-known researchers rank higher here.

3. Pain identification

Pick a problem or pain that is common among your ICP. Demystify it in a very simple way. Teach something that is instantly actionable to help with the pain. Don't try to solve a complex problem in one post. Just something instantly actionable to alleviate the pain.

(ICP means Ideal Client Profile).

5 Interesting Hook Angles

This is an insight I discovered on LinkedIn that I saved for myself. Unfortunately, I have no idea who it was from. So, if you know who made the post, I will be happy to give the attribution.

But I am sharing here because it could be very useful to you:
