My Take on LinkedIn Ghostwriters and AI for Content Creation
Plus, the special offer coming soon
I am sharing 3 things with you today:
1: My take on LinkedIn ghostwriters and AI
2: My approach to taking clients
3: The special offer coming soon
Let’s get into it.
My Take on LinkedIn Ghostwriters and AI
My goal here is to take you behind the scenes of what happens when I work with a client regarding their LinkedIn account.
I recently had a new client that I just onboarded, and it occurred to me that I haven’t shared much about that here.
The way I work with clients on LinkedIn is a little different from what most people do. There are basically two camps here…
The first camp are those who go for ghostwriters. They completely outsource their account to a 3rd party who makes content on their behalf. But while some ghostwriters are really good, things get awkward when it comes to engagement.
Right now, engagement is a really big deal on LinkedIn. And the algorithm can tell if you are not engaging. Engagement means comments and dwell time.
Lots of CEOs use ghostwriters. Several executives do too. How do I know a CEO is using a ghostwriter? It’s easy. Look at their comments.
If you know the CEO in person, and you see that they avoid making any specific comments (in a discussion), that is the sign that a ghostwriter is in charge.
I’m not going to be the pot calling the kettle black by saying ghostwriting is bad. Most of these CEOs and executives suck at making content. And they have the money to hire someone to manage their content as a job.
I have made ghostwriter offers to busy executives before and I may do more of in the near term. However, this is not the model I currently run. My target audience is not so much CEOs and high-level business executives.
The second camp are those who use AI. Okay, I can judge those ones. They are mostly terrible. What is so wrong with being human?
I advise people who insist on using AI to use it as an editor, not as a curator. But most people just do what is in their hearts anyway. People who use AI don’t think they need me.
So, if it is not AI and it is not ghostwriting, then how do I work with clients?
It is kind of editing plus coaching.
I want my client to become good at content creation on their own. So, I help them and they also get better on their own to the point where they don’t need me anymore.
I make them good enough to fire me. Only those who are interested though. But many get sloppy and don’t learn.
I make them write the post in a Google doc first. Then, I edit and coach. After which, they can now post on LinkedIn.
In case you are curious, my lowest tier with this cost a thousand usd. And I am very picky about who I allow in. I rarely have more than 5 clients at one time.
When I find people who are a good fit for this, I make them an irresistible offer…
My Approach to Taking Clients
I offer a 30-day free trial. But not to everybody, like I said. I am definitely NOT making that offer to you right now. That’s because I don’t know you.
Everyone who takes my 30-day free trial ends up becoming a client. And this is because I carefully curate who I offer it to. I have just a handful of clients in this and trust me, I am not looking to add more.
In fact, I wish that more people would do this and offer this. We are in a content creation world. Whether you like it or not, in this economy, you are a content creator. And most people suck (really bad) at creating content.
Very good ghostwriting is getting expensive.
Too many people just want to pay to make the problem go away. But I would rather teach and coach you (if I have a say in the matter).
The Special Offer Coming Soon
Speaking about teaching, my content creation course is coming out very soon. And I will be sharing it with you.
The course will be launched on Wednesday, October 22. And the special early bird offer will run for 10 days.
This means that the only time you will get the offer (from this newsletter) is Tuesday, October 28. That is next week. The Tuesday after the 28, (which is November 4) the special early bird offer will already be closed.
However, that doesn’t mean you can never get access to the course. You still can, but it will be at the full price. If you don’t mind, that’s fine.
But if you are price sensitive, watch out for the offer on Tuesday, October 28.
You can save that date.
The entire premise of the course is creating a piece of content that can get you 100k impressions. It will be easier for some than others.
There are a lot of factors that come into play. But I think anyone devoted to learning should be able to reach 100k in combined impressions or views.
The special early bird would come in at around a 40% discount, but only for the last 10 days of October. If you are serious about content creation, this is the best investment you would make on your professional career this year.
If you would like to bulk purchase for employees or a group, you can reach out to me and I will sweeten the deal for you.
That’s all for today. Share this with a friend or colleague.
